Wedding Breakfast The Egmont and Summit room can seat 90 people. The rooms have a warm alpine ambiance and look out into beautiful native bush setting with the mountaintop towering above. At night the scenery is floodlit and in winter a sparkling fire adds character in the Lounge. The a la carte menu is available for groups up to 30. For larger groups a Special Functions Menu can be arranged. It’s a four course meal; garlic bread, choice of two soups, four entrees, four mains (e.g. chicken, fish, steaks, and lamb or vegetarian platter), dessert trolley and tea or coffee. $39.00 per head. You can rearrange the menu and put other dishes on. It will be subject to our approval, as we might not be able to cook certain dishes in great quantities. Also the price could vary if more expensive items were chosen. |

Exclusive Use of Facilities Exclusive use at the Lodge is possible if all 10 rooms are taken at the Mountain House and a minimum of 65 persons attending the wedding breakfast. |

Bar and Wine Requirements All drinks, Wine and Champagne will be provided by the Mountain House. We do not have a “bring your own” (BYO) License. We will discuss wine or champagne requirements and only serve single spirits, NZ Beer, and no cocktails unless otherwise instructed. Rules can apply according to your budget, such as: everyone pays for their own predinner drinks or once your limit for drinks has been reached you can close the bar tab and again everyone pays their own if they wish to. |

Music and Dancing We have easy listening, classical or Swiss/Alpine tapes as background music. You can arrange your own D.J. or live musician. We recommend a one-person band as this suits the venue best. Recommended musicians: Errol Taylor, Solor Musician/Singer (06 7512312) . Wedding Procedures Usually starts off in the afternoon with the Wedding Ceremony either outside or inside. After the signing of the register you can arrange a glass of champagne for a toast or else the guests will have predinner drinks while the wedding group takes photographs. Then everyone will be seated and we take the orders, speeches will follow and might finish with grace. We will then proceed with the meal right up to and inclusive desserts. The Cake will then be cut and accompanied by some more speeches. We will then serve tea, coffee and wedding cake and the guests can retire to the lounge. The bar can be kept open until about 1pm. |
